The ideal point of this female triangle, at once connected to all the characters and yet isolated by the plot, Despina is portrayed here with faith by the soprano Anaïs Merlin. With a sparkle permanently in her eyes, we feel that the performer is close to the role she is playing, and her dynamic performance, mixed with a touch of provocation, is also felt. Her voice carries easily, with a very beautiful medium; one nevertheless feels that she will develop further, particularly in the high register.
